Description: Extremely rare advertising book for the Apple Macintosh II from 1989. Check out the pictures of many of the pages. You won't likely find another of these on ebay.

Demonstration book show the multitude of ways the Macintosh II can be used in advertising, production of a book, for presentations in business proposals and more.

Cover of the book says Instant Psychic and shows a man floating on a cloud.

From the first page of the book:
As one of our colleagues so aptly put it, "Seeing is believing, but touching is even better." You are about to see, touch and hear real-life examples of what people around the country are creating with Apple Macintosh computers. The printed documents, overhead transparencies, 35mm slides, and "multimedia" demonstrations in this book are all effective means of communication that we call Apple Desktop Media. The examples speak for themselves, as do the people who created them.

Chapters include:
Formatted on a Macintosh / Ron Hipschman computer expert at the Exploratorium, the San Francisco based museum of science, art and human perception. Macintosh is used to design and display the museum's interactive exhibits, as well as to produce its many award-winning publications. Shows an example of one of their publications.
Charted on a Macintosh / Mary Peterson and Chris Veal with an example of a Marking Impact of Logistics printed transparency for projection at a meeting.
Colored on a Macintosh / Joe Cillo of Associated Capital Investors and an example of a Marketing Communications printed transparency for projection at a meeting
Designed on a Macintosh / Kay Stout Manovich and Robert Clifford at Landor showing an example of product packaging for Palmolive Shampoo.
Text and illustrations typeset on a Macintosh / Michael Everitt and Michael Renner at The Understanding Business showing an example of showing how they use the Apple to direct production of the popular Access city-guide books as well as the Smart Yellow Pages with an example of Richard Saul Wurman's New Road Atlas US ATLAS by Access Press in black and white and behind it in color.
Prepress on a Macintosh / Dennis Chesnel, a project manager at the Editorial and Manufacturing Technology Group at Time, Inc., investigates new ways in which the company can streamline the magazine production process. This sections show a film separations that was produced solely through the use of computer technology.

Produced and prepared on a Macintosh / Terry Hall produced a training program for Coast Guard helicopter mechanics which is included on a disk and Cliff Hughes of New York advertising agency Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor created an animated storyboard shows the early stages of a Quaker Oats commercial using Macintosh and HyperCard software and is included on a separate disk.
Demonstrated on a Macintosh / Hugh Dubberly, Doris Mitsch and Keith Yamashita created the compact disc pictured here which contains a wealth of information about Apple Desktop Media.
